Do more of this in meetings:
The biggest mistake people make in a group meeting context is thinking that the only way to contribute is by proposing opinions or adding information. But there are other ways really helpful ways to contribute. They’re called “Green” communication behaviours

Practice active listening:
- Listen without forming an opinion or response (it’s so hard, takes heaps of practice)
- Face the speaker, eye contact, look for non verbal cues
- Don't derail the flow: hold questions until a natural pause or the Q&A section
Avoid:
- Chirping (when you’re trying to be encouraging but actually you’re just interrupting with “yep, yep, yep”)
- Starting everything with “this might be a dumb questions but..”. Try "I'm new to the team so this might be obvious, but could someone explain...?"
- Phrases that belittle ideas or contributions, like "That won't work..." or "We've tried that before...". Instead, try rephrasing like "Interesting! Why do you think that?"
